Yes, within yourself for yourself. Only then can it come from the outside too.

One of my favorite songs in the world says:
“Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t,
    maybe you’ll have children,maybe you won’t,
    maybe you’ll divorce at 40,
maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…
What ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much..
    Or berate yourself either …
    Your choices are half chance…
    So are everybody else’s.”

  3. Unconditional love is a helluva big ask – and perhaps we should not ask for something we know is also too big for us as flawed mortals to give. My husband goes for giving 100% to the relationship. He says when you both – that means the two of you – give the relationship 100%, as individuals you find you have something to treasure. 100% commitment, fair treatment, humility, mindfulness, goodwill, trust, respect, absence of blame, seeking solutions. When you both think that way, it comes pretty close to unconditional love. It’s a love that weathers the storms, but doesn’t necessarily have much to do with roses and candlelight. Doesn’t sound like much fun, does it – but, believe you me, it’s sheer delight!
